With the blessing of Metropolitan Feodor of Volgograd and Kamyshinsky, festive events are taking place in Volgograd dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, which is celebrated on July 8, the memorial day of the Holy Princes Peter and Fevronia, the Wonderworkers of Murom.
Many Volgogradians with their parents and children gathered in Volgograd's Central Park of Culture for the family holiday "Russian Yard" last Sunday afternoon.
On the main stage of the park, the rector of the church of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and Mother from Sofia, Priest Evgeny Karavaev, opened the celebrations. He emphasized the importance of family values, noting:
— The date of July 8, when we celebrate the day of Saints Peter and Fevronia, was not given to us by God by chance. The Holy spouses have shown us an example of eternal boundless love, fidelity and purity, which should burn in our hearts towards our neighbors and our families.
A variety of events awaited the guests of the holiday: folk songs and dances, creative workshops, many tried their hand at such useful in everyday life, but undeservedly forgotten, working with a Druzhba saw and hammering nails, and also participated in traditional games. An exhibition in defense of life before birth, "Born in Spite", was launched at one of the venues.
