On March 8, approximately 500 icons of the Mother of God were gifted to young mothers and medical personnel in maternity wards in Suceava County. This initiative was organized by priests of the Romanian Church in celebration of International Women's Day.

The event was part of a broader ecclesiastical program known as "Month for Life," dedicated to supporting motherhood and protecting life. Hospital priests visited maternity and neonatal departments, bestowing blessings upon women and offering words of encouragement.

According to the diocese, many mothers received this gift with deep emotion. Organizers explained that the icon of the Mother of God symbolizes protection, hope, and spiritual support, also serving as a reminder to pray for newborns and entrust their children to the care of the Mother of God.

The initiators stressed that the Church aimed to express gratitude to women and healthcare workers who care for the health and lives of people every day.

Throughout March, numerous events are taking place in Romania as part of the "Month for Life" campaign. These include charitable activities supporting pregnant women, educational meetings for youth, volunteer initiatives to assist families, and cultural events focused on family and motherhood. The campaign traditionally concludes with a March for Life, held in Bucharest and hundreds of other cities, drawing thousands of participants.
