On October 9, 2026, the executive secretary of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks, rector of the church, Priest Timofey Chaikin, celebrated a prayer service before the start of the All-Russian Cossack Forum "Cossack Personnel Reserve" and gave a lecture on the spiritual foundations of the ministry of the Russian Cossacks.
The prayer service was attended by Igor Kochubeev, Deputy ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society for Youth Policy and Sports, and students of the forum's educational program.
Addressing the audience, who arrived from different regions and Cossack troops, Father Timofey thanked for the fact that the work of the forum begins in the temple with prayer. "Any leadership that is not supported by a moral core can serve not only for the benefit, but often to the detriment of not only the person himself as a leader, but also those people who are under his responsibility," the priest emphasized. Then he addressed the audience with a parting message. "I would like to wish that the all-good, generous and merciful God, Who created us intelligent in His image and likeness, would bless all of you. So that you can go to your places with satisfaction and be able to serve those around you with joy and with the best of your heart, and, of course, our holy Orthodoxy, the faith of Christ, the Fatherland, and the Cossacks," he said.
In a lecture following the prayer service, Fr Timofey recalled that faith and participation in the Eucharistic life of the Church have always been of particular importance to Kazak. When the special military operation began, many Cossacks left to defend their homeland, but did not end their lives with Christ. They are assisted in this by priests who serve in the area of their church. The unity of the Church, the Fatherland and the Cossacks is especially evident in this. "The Church, the Fatherland, and the Cossacks are an amazing trinity. If you remove at least one component from it, it will become like a body devoid of one of its members. It happened historically, it was blessed by God, and therefore we are called to support each other," the lecturer explained.
The Cossack Personnel Reserve Forum on the theme "Cossacks defending Russia's borders" is being held from October 9 to 12. Its purpose is to identify and train promising representatives of Cossack societies and Cossack youth organizations for inclusion in the personnel reserve. The program provides for a daily prayer rule — morning and evening. On the first day, students will visit the Central Museum of the Russian Cossacks and the Victory Museum, after which they will go to the Senezh Management Workshop in Solnechnogorsk, where the main classes will be held. In the following days, they will receive speeches from ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Vitaly Kuznetsov and ataman of the Central Cossack Army Andrey Fadyukhin, as well as meetings with representatives of government authorities and grant funds. In addition, discussion panels and practical classes on project activities and public communication are planned.
