The Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate has published the Orthodox Church calendar for 2027, "Listening to the Word of God." The edition contains readings from the Holy Scriptures for every day.
In everyday life, a Christian needs to read the books of the New and Old Testaments. They can be read in a row, chapter by chapter, or selectively, if desired. But it is better to read daily, together with the whole Church, those passages of Holy Scripture that are recited in the temples of God. The calendar "Listening to the Word of God" contains selected texts from the Gospel and the Apostle for each day for home reading (translated into Russian). The chapters from the Old Testament are given on the days of Great Lent, when the Liturgy is not supposed to be celebrated.
The texts of the Old Testament verses (from the books of Genesis, Proverbs, the prophets Joel, Zechariah, Isaiah) are published in the translation by P.A. Yungerov according to the official publications of the Moscow Patriarchate, carried out in 2006-2012.
The contents of the calendar in 2027 are given in the traditional expanded version. On the days of Great Lent, the calendar contains all the necessary Old Testament readings (on the clock and at Vespers).
The calendar is published in a series of desktop church calendars published by the Moscow Patriarchate.
The publication is carried out with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
