On September 30, 2026, the stay of the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt ended in the Peter and Paul Diocese.
The shrine was located in the Ascension Cathedral, where over 20,000 people managed to worship it in a short amount of time. With a large gathering of believers, the diocesan clergy performed prayer services to the saint day and night.
During his visit to the administrative center of the North Kazakhstan region, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan performed solemn divine services in the main temple of the city on the occasion of the bringing of the relics of St. Spyridon to the region and the day of remembrance of the heavenly patronesses of Alma Ata and Semirechye — the martyrs of Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia; visited the gymnasium in the name of St. Sergius Radonezh and large parishes of the Peter and Paul Diocese; He consecrated the newly built church boarding house for the elderly in the village of Arkhangelskoye and the newly erected baptismal chapel and belfry for St. Nicholas Church in the village of Novonikolskoye.
On September 29, the head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and representatives of the Kerkyra Metropolitanate of the Greek Orthodox Church, accompanying the relics of St. Spyridon, met with the akim of the North Kazakhstan region, G.T. Nurmukhambetov.
On the evening of September 30, after the final prayer service, the great shrine of Orthodoxy left Petropavlovsk and headed for the city of Kostanay.
The venerable relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt are accompanied on the pilgrimage by: Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan; head of the administrative secretariat of the head of the Metropolitan District, Priest Georgy Sidorov, and head of the Protocol service of Metropolitan Alexander, Protodeacon Roman Golovin; representatives of the Kerkyra Metropolitan Archdiocese, led by Protopresbyters Evangelos Koutras and Thomas Kostamonitis.
