The Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service has allocated 200,000 rubles to support a point of assistance to families with children at the social department of the Urzhum diocese. They help single parents, large families with low incomes, families raising children with disabilities, and women in difficult situations. The funds were allocated as part of the second church competition for family projects, which was conducted by the Synodal Department for Charity.
"We are very grateful for the help provided," said Galina Gradoboeva, head of the center for family support with children. — With the allocated funds, we purchased food, diapers, and hygiene products for our wards — large families, families with disabled children, and single parents. And a real miracle happened: three women decided to save the children when they found out that we could help them."
The proceeds were used to purchase 70 food packages, diapers and hygiene products. 52 families received assistance.
The assistance center for families with children has been operating since 2019. Families receive food, hygiene products and necessary medicines here. Over the entire period of work, more than 400 families received assistance.
The second competition of church family projects was held by the Synodal Department for Charity from April 16 to May 3. It received 53 applications from different regions of the country. After consideration by the competition committee, 24 winners were determined.
