On the feast of the appearance of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Kazan, on July 21, 2026, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, and Metropolitan Timothy of Vostry (Patriarchate of Jerusalem), Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Cyprus, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Cypriot city of Limassol.
The archpastors were co-served by the rector of the church, Archpriest Pavel Povalyaev, and pilgrims in holy orders.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Anthony delivered a sermon.
The DECR Chairman also congratulated Archpriest Pavel on his 50th birthday and, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, presented him with the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, III degree.
After the Liturgy, Bishop Anthony and Metropolitan Timothy had a fraternal conversation.
The DECR head conveyed to Vladyka Timofey the good wishes of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. The meeting participants also discussed current issues on the inter-Orthodox agenda.
