After a stay at the exhibition in the capital's Manege, the ark with a fragment of the relics of St. Luke the Confessor, Archbishop of Simferopol, was solemnly transferred to the Sretensky Monastery. The abbot of the monastery, Hegumen John (Ludishchev), with the brethren in holy orders, served a moleben before the relics of the saint.
Prior to that, the relics of St. Luke of Crimea (V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky) were at the XXI Church and Public Exhibition-Forum "Orthodox Russia - for National Unity Day" in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege", where they were delivered on November 5 from the Holy Trinity Convent in Simferopol with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia..
The relics are available for worship and will stay in the monastery from December 9th to 20th. During the day, prayer services with the akathist are performed in front of the relics: on weekdays in 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00; on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00.
St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) is one of the most revered saints of the 20th century, an outstanding surgeon, whose scientific works still have not lost their significance. He was a person of amazing scale, who combined the talent of a doctor, the inquisitive mind of a scientist and a deep faith in God.
