On August 26, with the blessing of Metropolitan George of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, the third stage of the 52nd humanitarian convoy was dispatched from the territory of the Spassky Old Market Cathedral in Nizhny Novgorod to the area of the special military operation.
The humanitarian shipment was organized by the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese's Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies and the public organization Spiritual Heritage.
The prayer service before departure was performed by the cleric of the temple complex in honor of the Smolensk and Vladimir icons of the Mother of God, Priest Ilya Rodin.
The service was attended by representatives of public organizations and volunteers who collect and deliver humanitarian supplies to the conflict zone.
The third part of the 52nd humanitarian cargo, which included icons and Orthodox literature, will be sent to the Bryansk region, where the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese and Spiritual Heritage, at the request of military personnel from one of the military units, are engaged in the construction and equipping of a field church. Another car will join the humanitarian convoy in Moscow, accompanied by journalist and blogger Mikhail Onufrienko.
The peculiarity of the 52nd humanitarian convoy is that it took place in three stages: on August 1, two vehicles left for the Belgorod region, where part of the humanitarian cargo was transferred to Nizhny Novgorod military personnel. Further, humanitarian aid was delivered to the Donetsk People's Republic to Nizhny Novgorod doctors performing their professional duties in the area of their military operations. In addition, through one of the aid centers in Belgorod, part of the humanitarian cargo was transferred to civilians in temporary accommodation facilities. The cargo includes tools and materials for dugout equipment, camouflage nets, medical products and medicines, as well as special medical racks and cabinets, household tools, and technical devices. Textbooks and fiction have also been transferred through the public organization.
The second stage of the humanitarian shipment took place on August 3. On this day, medicines and personal protective equipment were sent to the Donetsk People's Republic.
The total weight of 52 humanitarian supplies was about 18 tons.
