A memorial service was held in the Annunciation Cathedral in Yoshkar-Ola for soldiers who died during a special military operation and other military conflicts.
The service was performed by a cleric of the cathedral, Priest John Milyutin, who is responsible for the care of the soldiers of the SVR and their families of the Yoshkar-Ola diocese.
Fathers and mothers, wives and children, and other relatives of the fallen soldiers came to pray at the memorial service. Each of them received spiritual solace in their grief over the loss of a loved one. At the end of the memorial service, Father John addressed the audience with a pastoral address, emphasizing that the Lord leads every person to salvation by a single path, known only to Him. Our soldiers, having endured difficulties and bodily sufferings, fulfilled the main commandment of God about love, giving their lives for the faith, for the Fatherland, for their loved ones. And the Lord gave them comfort and peace in the Kingdom of heaven. But we need to pray for them, and call upon the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to help us in prayer, Who will help us not to be discouraged and not to despair, trusting in God's good providence. And the Lord will give us victory and peace in our hearts.
After the memorial service, a tea party was organized in the refectory of the cathedral. Everyone present could talk to the priest, ask questions, and tell about their emotional experiences. And everyone had a warm conversation with each other, shared memories of their loved ones, and supported each other.
