On September 4, 2025, a significant event took place at the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, with the installation of a new dome on the main cathedral of the monastery. The Russian History Museum, which has been associated with the seminary since the 1940s, shared photographs of the event on social media. The museum also holds an archival photo of the installation of the original dome in 1947.

The original dome, constructed in November 1947, was made of wood and copper, and was covered with gold leaf. However, after decades of exposure to the elements, the structure deteriorated and had to be dismantled. The new dome features a lightweight fiberglass design that maintains the traditional appearance of the original.

Founded in 1930, the Jordanville Monastery quickly became an important spiritual and cultural center for the Russian émigré community in the United States. In 1948, the Holy Trinity Theological Seminary was established here, which continues to train clergy and church leaders for the needs of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. A unique aspect of the seminary is its close connection to monastic tradition, as students participate in services and duties alongside the monastic community.

The monastery grounds also house the Russian History Museum, whose collection began to take shape in the mid-20th century when émigrés donated family heirlooms and memorabilia brought from Russia or collected abroad. Among the donors was Princess Vera Konstantinovna Romanova, who contributed relics from her father, Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich. Today, the museum preserves hundreds of exhibits and actively engages in educational activities.
