With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, a round table on "Practical fulfillment of monastic vows in modern conditions" was held in Krasnodar on June 25, 2026. It was attended by bishops and monastics of dioceses located in the Southern Federal District.
The work of the round table was led by Metropolitan Vasily of Yekaterinodar and Kuban. During the event, reports were heard reflecting the current state of monasticism, as well as the challenges of modernity that monastics have to face.
The work of the round table was preceded by the Cathedral Divine Liturgy in the Catherine Cathedral of the capital of Kuban. Then all the participants went to the historical park "Russia – my History", where a guided tour of the multimedia exhibition "From the history of the temples of Yekaterinodar" was organized for the guests.
Before the start of the conference, the head of the Kuban Archdiocese addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. The participants of the round table considered various aspects of the monastic feat: from the life of a modern monastery to the necessary conditions for the formation of a complete monastic personality.
At the end of each report, there were suggestions that, in the opinion of the speakers, could contribute to solving certain problems of modern monasticism.
