On July 1, 2026, a screening of the film "Holy Entrepreneurs", filmed by the Spas TV channel, took place in Moscow in the Hall of Church Cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The event gathered more than 1300 guests, including a well-represented business community. The film tells about entrepreneurs of the pre—revolutionary era who were looking not only for profit, but also for God, as well as about contemporaries — people who build their businesses with the belief that life is a dead end just for the sake of getting rich.
The premiere of the film took place on June 6 as part of the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum; the film received large-scale support from business representatives, as well as students in specialized economic fields.
The authors of the film have thrown a bridge between the past, present and future. From the story of the fates of St. Seraphim of Vyritsky, St. Spyridon of Trimifunt, the Righteous Vasily Pavlov-Posadsky, the new Martyrs John Letnikov, Vasily Ivanov, Jacob Blatov, Sergius Tikhomirov — to the stories of outstanding patrons of the past — Tretyakov, Morozov, Bakhrushin, Ryabushinsky, Innokenty Sibiryakov, who built hospitals, schools, temples and museums on the principle of "not for myself, but for the Motherland."
Along with the stories of saints, inspiring examples of modern Russian entrepreneurs appear in the film. It was important for the filmmakers to show that in today's business there is an opportunity to focus on the moral ideals of holy Russian entrepreneurs.
The film raises questions that are relevant at all times: whether entrepreneurial activity can be a service, how material prosperity and spiritual life are related, and what kind of Christian leader should be. A special place in the film is occupied by the story of the creation of the icon of the patron saints of entrepreneurs.
The idea of the project originated in the Museum of Entrepreneurs back in 2022, an icon of holy entrepreneurs was painted in 2023, and a film was shot in 2026.
The premieres of the film "Holy Entrepreneurs" in Moscow and St. Petersburg demonstrated the keen interest and huge demand of Russian society for Orthodox and creative content. The film aims to show that doing business, creating jobs, producing decent competitive products and achieving meaningful goals is realistic. And at the same time, it is important to organize your business for the glory of the Fatherland and for the prosperity of your people.
