On the 8th Week after Pentecost, on July 26, 2026, in the capital of the Chechen Republic, the city of Grozny, a cross and a dome were consecrated for a church under construction in honor of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir. The church, which is being built in the area named after the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, will become one of the new spiritual centers of the Grozny diocese.
The consecration ceremony was led by Bishop Ambrose of Grozny and Sunzha, co-served by the clergy of the diocese. Representatives of government authorities, Cossacks, public organizations, parishioners and residents of the city prayed during the service.
Upon completion of the rite, Bishop Ambrose, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic — Minister of the Chechen Republic for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information A.M. Dudaev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Cossack Ataman General of the All-Russian Cossack Army V.V. Kuznetsov, Director of the Department for Interaction with Religious, Public Organizations and External relations between the Administration of the Head and Government of the Chechen Republic A.U. Abdulaev. The solemn event was also attended by the Federal Inspector for the Chechen Republic of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, A.G. Abramov.
In their speeches, the honored guests noted the special spiritual and social significance of the construction of the new temple, as well as the importance of preserving traditional values and strengthening interethnic and interreligious harmony. Bishop Ambrose thanked the leadership of the Chechen Republic, the builders and all those who take part in the construction of the church and assist in the implementation of this significant project.
After the welcoming remarks, the solemn raising and installation of the consecrated dome and cross on the temple under construction took place. The installation of the cross became an important milestone in the construction of the temple complex and a visible evidence of creative interfaith cooperation based on mutual respect and harmony in the republic.
Then, an introductory tour of the church and the parish house under construction was conducted for the honored guests. The participants of the event were informed about the progress of construction work, the architectural features of the temple complex and the further stages of its construction.
