In Minecraft, enthusiasts have recreated the Kostroma Kremlin, the historical heart of Kostroma, much of which was lost in the 20th century. The project became part of the large-scale international initiative Build The Earth, which aims to reproduce the entire planet Earth in the game world.

The work was carried out within the framework of the CIS team responsible for the territory of Russia and the CIS countries. The project deals with the digital reconstruction of cities and architectural monuments, as well as the popularization of historical, architectural and spiritual heritage among young people. The participants strive to convey the architecture and historical environment of real objects as accurately as possible, using the features of the Minecraft game.

The initiators of the digital reconstruction of the Kostroma Kremlin were Nikolai Stotsky, a 4th-year student at the History Department of the Russian State University for the Humanities, and Boris Grachev, a student at Zelenograd School No. 1353. Vladislav Lipatov also made a significant contribution to the creation of the virtual model. Their joint work demonstrates how the Build The Earth project unites enthusiasts from different regions of Russia to achieve a common goal - the preservation and popularization of cultural, historical and spiritual heritage in digital format.

The Kostroma Kremlin has been the historical and spiritual center of the city for many centuries. In 1934, its architectural ensemble was destroyed, but work is currently underway to restore it. In the virtual version, it was possible to recreate the historical appearance of the Kremlin, including its key architectural sites and temples. When creating the model, archival documents, historical photographs, maps and other materials were used, which made it possible to accurately convey the appearance of the monument.

For modern generations, the virtual environment often becomes the first point of acquaintance with the history, architecture and spiritual culture of Russia, and Minecraft allows you to explore monuments in an interactive format. Such projects help preserve the memory of historical sites, make them accessible to a wide audience and increase the interest of young people in the historical, architectural and spiritual heritage of Russia.
