On July 1, 2026, on the eve of the celebration in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, students of the Sunday school of the Trinity Church in the village of Bolshoy Samovets and schoolchildren from the village of Bolshoy Samovets took part in the beautification of the holy spring in the village of Kamennoye.
The work was supervised by the rector of the Trinity Church, Priest Vitaly Zhukov. Together with the priest, the children repaired the floors and roofs of buildings located on the territory of the spring in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The work carried out made it possible to prepare the holy place for the upcoming celebration and became an important example of joint work, caring for the shrine and participating in the life of the parish for the children.

The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
