On the commemoration day of Saints Sergius and Herman of Valaam, July 11, 2026, the Wonderworkers (c. 1353), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the upper church of the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Valaam Stavropol Monastery.
The Patriarchal service was broadcast live on the Soyuz and Spas TV channels, as well as on the official portal of the Russian Orthodox Church.
At the small entrance, by decree of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, in view of his many years of work as vicar of the Valaam Monastery, His Grace Pankraty, Bishop of Troitsk, vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, was elevated to the rank of archbishop.
Also at the small entrance, a number of the inhabitants of the Valaam monastery were awarded liturgical and hierarchical awards. 
At the special litany, special petitions were offered, and the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church read a prayer for Holy Russia.
At the end of the Liturgy, Archbishop Pankraty of Troitsk addressed His Holiness with a welcoming speech and presented His Holiness with a Valaam icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the participants of the divine service with a Primatial address.
As a gift to the Valaam monastery, the Primate gave an icon of the Venerable Pelageya, Paraskeva and Maria Diveevsky. His Holiness presented Archbishop Pancratius with a commemorative panagia.
Icons depicting the Smolensk Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Patriarchal blessing were given to all participants of the service.
At the end of the Liturgy, His Holiness descended to the lower church of the Transfiguration Cathedral, where he glorified the venerable relics of St. Sergius and Herman of Valaam. After praying to the founders of the monastery, the Primate bowed to their holy relics. His Holiness the Patriarch also worshiped the venerated list of the Valaam Icon of the Mother of God and the relics of St. Antipas of Valaam.
Then His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took part in a fraternal meal in the Refectory Chambers of the Valaam Monastery.
